We participate in various gatherings that have both traditional and not-so-traditional elements, that stretch us and help us to grow. Our gatherings include readings from Jewish and Christian scriptures, Sufi poetry, contemporary writers, and Medieval mystics; lighting candles and singing (ours or someone else’s); silence; prayer of many kinds; videos; food; sounds; conversation. They are “worship,” though not as you may imagine.

We become better, happier, stronger, more generous and courageous people by living awakened lives.

We repeat things and lean into them. Things like “God is love,” and “Jesus invited people to join him in transforming the world,” and “Love sometimes means afflicting what is comfortable and comforting what is afflicted.” Things like “Be still and open, and you will feel God.” Things like, as Emily Dickinson wrote, "This world is not conclusion.” Things like, as Rumi wrote, “I searched for God and found only myself; I searched for myself and only found God.”

We don’t have set doctrines or beliefs that you have to believe or follow.

We want everyone to bring who they are, as they are. Your beliefs - or non-beliefs - are welcome.
